You guys should get, or inform me of twitter account status. That would intrigue me.

I started to be of the opinion that though I'm fairly liberal, and not a big fan of the war, Clinton or Obama  (excuse my current political ignorance as to what's going on. Busy.) were probably in line with my ideal choices for what was available but McCain will win the election. I think that even aside from presidential skill (right?), though an African American or female would do a great deal in unifying and betting down many of this country's widespread prejudices it's too much to throw at this population too fast. It will happen in time, but it will fail a few times before acceptance.

That said, aside from the war stance (and again my overall ingorance) I do feel McCain is a lesser of most conservative evils.

Livejournal and Msn seem to be the only sites my work computer (pizza place) can access.

11:27 pm - The Little Things (and the big things)
It is refreshing and astonishing to see the universe, or karma bend to my will in a literal 10-15 amazing events lining up on a day filled with off the wall activities in which all were superbly positive, uplifting experiences.

Also, thanks for being a part. Christine, Sean, Jessica, and Renee.

And small things like getting to see a game play video of Street Fighter IV (I'm hardly a game,r but SF had a huge part in my childhood. I follow it and get very excited at new releases. And that's actually a large understatement, but the point is made.) Go life! Thanks for the recharge.

And also an omen. I'm not a heavy smoker, but Dave's Lights (Read: the only cigarette I will smoke/prefer) were just discontinued. Only one thing to do I suppose. That is, after I work off the 2 cartons I cleaned out of all the Capitol Hill smoke shops and convenience stores. </fiend> They taste amazing.

YOU ARE NOW ENTERING A NO PREACHING ZONE. Only positivity allowed.

07:11 pm - An Observation:
I believe the show 24 helped prime this country for Obama/ an African American president. This is not a value judgment, just something that occurred to me right around the last election.

02:15 am - I am listening to hear where you are.
Aside from the song itself being gorgeous, this is one of the best covers I've ever heard bar non. The Mountain Goats (unique folk sound) covering Neutral Milk Hotel's "Two Headed Boy" (by a very vocally unique artist, released in 1998). The high notes are intense, and capture a raw essence of what the original conveyed with its sound. My jaw dropped.

The zip containing both tracks. I had to share.

Have a pleasant Thingstaken day. (in spite of the historical lean of the quip.

03:49 am - Duh
It's about time something was written on this. Apparently it goes against monetary interests though, thus the hush hush.

03:51 am - The Hibari House

Out front

I put up some photos of the house we're living in. It's a bit nicer than an average dorm room. It's a bit drafty, and the bathroom is freezing, but the common room is well equipped and warm. Coin operated heat and showers as I've mentioned are used, but since then I've become the master of the 8 minute shower (you can stop and restart the water when lathering up and all). Dan didn't have to master it at all apparently. He comes back bragging that he is usually done with 4 minutes to spare. psh.

The only trash cans that exist in Japan are in front of 7-11s.

Short shorts and skirts in 40 degree weather. I don't see how.

Karaoke rooms have jaded me to American karaoke.

Cigarettes are less than $3/pack.

I have a slight knee injury unfortunately.

For those who don't know, I'm in Japan with Dan until the 1st of March. I'll probably be throwing pictures up at lighterside.org occasionally, but feel free to be in touch! Here, my site, or by email at adjectives@gmail.com.

01:21 am - Did everyone not notice this?
Myspace is evil solely because they encourage embeded background music. Seriously guys. Seriously. It was fucking annoying back in 1996. It's still fucking annoying. And now it's a default option? wtf? Because there's nothing like casually surfing, clicking a friend's link to myspace and hearing whatever Gwen Stefani is passing as music these days, loud enough to wake my neighbors.

01:43 pm - 17's
I never figured I'd buy rims for my car as it's on it's last legs, no pun intended, but I found a set in great shape for the same price I can sell my old crappy factory set for. These came with new balanced tires also! They look good, but my car is a bit rough around the edges itself. ¬_¬

03:28 am - eMusic.com
This site has sucked away hours of valuable time today. It's similar to iTunes with only independant music at less than .25 cents/song. I'm now on the 90 songs/month plan after burning through my free 25, and I'm sure this sounds like a commercial, but damn! I'm only (now) going to bed because I think I have too much to listen to. If you sign up refer me please. :Þ

[I finally have the whole CD "Doolittle"]
